Skincare FAQs

Do i need to prep for my facial?

There is no “prep” required when coming in for a facial unless you have been instructed to by your provider for an advanced treatment. We recommend not washing your face before coming in as we will do that for you! Minimal makeup is fine as we will do a double cleanse which removes surface dirt, oil, and makeup. You may choose to wear our drapes if you do not want your clothes/top to get dirty. Other than that, just bring yourself and relax!

WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?

For our treatments, we use a variety of professional grade products by Face Reality, Hale & Hush, Glymed Plus Skincare, and several Korean skincare brands. They can only be purchased by a licensed esthetician as they contain the purest and most concentrated forms of ingredients. Face Reality is our main acne line as it contains non-pore clogging ingredients and are formulated specifically for acne. They are also cruelty-free! *Keep in mind that we provide a customized regimen for every individual and may use different lines tailored to your skin concerns and needs.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY ACNE TO CLEAR?

Acne can take up to 90 days to form. Therefore, it can take 90 days to be fully clear as your acne surfaces throughout treatment.

WHAT IS PURGING? HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Purging occurs when your skin is being exfoliated with actives such as AHAs and BHAs that get deep into your pores. The dirt, oil, and bacteria that are now resurfacing causes acne. Do NOT stop your regimen during this phase. It is perfectly normal as everything in your pores is being drawn out. It can last up to 2-8 weeks depending on the individual, but will get better over time. Purging consists of whiteheads, blackheads, pustules, and cysts in areas that you normally have acne. Remember, when treating acne, it will get worse before it gets better!

IT HAS TAKEN MONTHS AND MY SKIN IS STILL NOT CLEAR. WHAT DO I DO?

Treating acne encompasses treating your body as a whole. Our skin is our largest organ! So everything we consume or are exposed to can affect our skin. If you are not clearing, look back at your diet and lifestyle. We are human and sometimes old habits can come into play (e.g. excess sugar intake, alcohol consumption, smoking, sleeping with makeup on, using dirty towels, hormones, health, etc). It is perfectly okay to keep in touch with your Esthetician/Acne Specialist to go over everything again and make sure there are no variables affecting your progress.

MY SKIN REACTED TO A PRODUCT. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

If you experienced a reaction to a product, please notify your Esthetician/Acne Specialist IMMEDIATELY. Seek a doctor if reactions get worse or do not improve.

Lash Extensions

FAQs

Can lash extensions damage my natural lashes?

Lash extensions are perfectly safe for your natural lashes! You just have to find the right lash artist who uses ethical and proper techniques when applying lash extensions.

Why do you not accept outside fills/removals?

Every lash artist has a certain technique and uses different products/adhesives when applying natural lashes. Therefore, it is best to work over lashes that we have done with products that we are familiar with. If you would like to receive a set by us but have outside work done, we recommend getting a removal first and then booking a full set.

HOw often do i have to wash and brush my lashes?

We recommend washing your lashes once a day (preferably twice a day, once in the morning and night). It is especially important to wash your lashes if you have worn eye makeup or before any lash appointment. Washing your lashes prevents any dirt, oil, and makeup from building up. Clean lashes allows for better retention and application.

When brushing your lashes with the provided mascara wand, we recommend only brushing them when dry.

Can i wear makeup with my lash extensions?

You can wear makeup except for mascara or “waxy/creamy” eyeshadows and eyeliners. We recommend using powdered makeup instead. It is also important to remove your makeup each time you wear it and to wash your lashes after!

Can I wear contacts during my lash appointment?

We do not recommend wearing your contacts during your lash appointment. Since your eyes will be closed for a long duration, contacts have the potential to scratch and irritate your eyes if you keep them in.

Online Product Orders

FAQs

How long will it take to get my online order?

Our skincare products are drop-shipped to you and fulfilled by the skincare companies we partner with. Online order processing typically takes 1-3 days and depending on the company it may take 5-14 days for shipping. If an order is placed on a weekend, it will be processed and fulfilled on the next business day.

My product leaked during shipment, what do I do?

If your products arrive leaked or with any defects during shipment, please email us at (asteriluxeaesthetics@gmail.com) with photos of the products in its original packaging so that we may reach out to the skincare company on how to move forward.

Can I return my products?

All sales are final and returns are not accepted at this time. Most of our products use natural botanical ingredients that at the time of purchase or opening, will expire. We believe that every client/individual should use fresh, new, and unused products. Please see our return policy or contact us with any questions.

Merchandise

FAQs

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY SHIRT(s)?

Our apparel is print-on-demand and fulfilled by a third party, so there is no inventory sitting around! Once you place an order it is sent to the printing company where they make it fresh and then ship it out to the designated address. This process can take around 2-3 weeks to complete but we did it this way to provide the best quality merch. For any returns please see our return policy or contact us with any questions.
